What is Hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are classified as internal or external hemorrhoids, deriving their name from their position within the body. An internal hemorrhoid is located within the rectum where it meets the top of the anal canal and external hemorrhoids are located outside of the anus and you can suffer from both types at the same time.

Hemorrhoids symptoms can be either blatantly obvious or nothing at all. Every person is different as is every crop up. There are some signs that your hemorrhoids are flaring up that are very obvious, such as bleeding, burning, itching, and swelling in the rectum. Other not so obvious signs are a hard time with bowel movements or constipation. Other signs are also some minor and intermittent pain in the rectal area. We don't know exactly what causes hemorrhoids, but experts think they occur when the small blood vessels (veins) in the lining of your rectum.

The rectum is the last six to eight inches of the large intestine, ending with the anus (where you empty your bowels). rectum become wider and swollen with blood.

There are quite some numbers of reasons why you can get this ailment:

• Constipation: No one yet knows why this type of ailment occurs due to constipation. However, it has been commonly seen in such people.

• Anal sex: people who practice this type of sex are more prone;

• Modern stressful lives lead to hypertension and stress. This lifestyles leads to high blood pressure, which has been identified as one of the main causes;

• Irregular lifestyles: People whose lifestyles are irregular are at constant risk of getting hemorrhoids. Irregular lifestyles often lead to irregular bowel movements. This leads to constipation and in turn it leads to the problem.

• It has been found that people who eat spicy food too, are susceptible;

• Hemorrhoids are genetic, if there has been someone in your family, suffering from this condition you are susceptible.
