6) Sit In A Sitz Bath. Sit in a tub filled with 6 to 8 inches of warm water for 10 minutes, three times a day. Add 1 cup of Epsom salts if you wish. It can help reduce the swelling and can be quite soothing.

I am a vegan--a militant vegan--and even though I occasionally suffer from hemorrhoids, I sit firmly knowing that vegetables are the cure.
When I was younger I had unprotected sex in that area, and that was most likely the cause of these--although some say that anal sex is not in fact the cause, in my case it might be.
However, now I believe that my diet prevents worse outbreaks, because the fats that are present in animal products are not only 1) coming from meat sources that are killed through violence but also 2) meat fats are not compatible with human tissues, and as you know hemorrhoids are tissue too.
My question is: is it true that anal sex causes these? Can a vegan diet prevent more outbreaks? I have had great luck with bananas.
